ACU Women Wing Honours Dr. Kelechi Achilike M. With Outstanding Service Award

OWERRI, IMO STATE — The Agwa Central Union Women’s Wing (ACUWW) has honoured Dr. Kelechi Achilike M. with an Outstanding Service Award in recognition of his dedication, commitment to humanity and contributions to the development of Agwa Clan.
The award was presented during the 2026 Annual August Meeting of the Agwa Central Union Women’s Wing held on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at Double Day Hotel and Suites, Owerri, Imo State.
The award plaque, presented by the women’s wing, commended Dr. Achilike for his dedication, unwavering commitment and demonstration of love for humanity, as well as his willingness to provide exemplary service in support of the development of Agwa Clan.
The inscription on the award further prayed for God’s continued blessings upon him for his contributions to the community.
The recognition is also seen as an appreciation of Dr. Achilike’s involvement in community-oriented activities and his service to Agwa Clan and humanity, particularly through his professional background as a health professional and participation in several committees and initiatives committed to community development.
The ACU Women’s Wing’s recognition of the health professional comes at a time when the organisation continues to place emphasis on the role of women and other stakeholders in promoting development, peace, unity and security within Agwa Clan.
The annual August meeting, held under the theme “Women As Home Builders,” brought together members and stakeholders for discussions, celebrations and recognition of individuals who have contributed to the progress and wellbeing of the community.
The meeting was also an opportunity for the women’s wing to reaffirm its commitment to community development and its ongoing efforts toward the completion of the Agwa Women Multipurpose Hall, a project initiated by the organisation as part of its contribution to the development of the clan.
The leadership of the women’s wing, under President-General Lady Dorathy Utazi, Ph.D., has continued to encourage collective responsibility, unity and active participation of women in matters affecting the development of Agwa.
The event featured the presentation of merit and service awards to deserving sons and daughters of Agwa who have distinguished themselves through service, leadership and contributions to the community, such as Prof. Humphrey Chukwuemeka Ugo, Dr. Kevin Ihetu, Mrs. Edith Chinyere Amaze Obi, Hon. Goddey Onyewuchi Nwabekee, Mr. Cajetan Onuegbu, Mrs. Rebecca Onwuzugha, Prince Chidi Nwokeocha (Ezembi), among others.
The award to Dr. Achilike highlighted the importance of recognising individuals whose professional and community engagements extend beyond personal interests to supporting the wellbeing and advancement of society.
As a health professional, Dr. Achilike’s service to humanity provides an additional dimension to his community involvement, particularly in an environment where healthcare, social development, peace and security remain important components of sustainable community growth.
The ACU Women’s Wing has continued to advocate for greater cooperation among Agwa sons and daughters, with particular attention to the role of women as agents of peace, development and social stability.
The 2026 August Meeting therefore provided another platform for the organisation to celebrate community service while encouraging continued support for initiatives that can improve the lives of people across Agwa Clan.
The recognition of Dr. Achilike is expected to further encourage him and other community-minded individuals to sustain their commitment to Agwa Clan and humanitarian service.
The ACU Women’s Wing also reiterated the importance of collective effort, noting through its activities that meaningful development requires the participation and support of individuals, families, women’s groups, professionals and other stakeholders.
With the annual meeting concluded, the women’s wing is expected to continue its community-focused activities and mobilisation toward the realisation of its development objectives, including the completion of the Agwa Women Multipurpose Hall.
