APC Stakeholders Meeting: Faisal Shuaib Calls for Unity Ahead of 2027 Elections

LAFIA, NASARAWA STATE — September 1, 2026: The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for Nasarawa West Senatorial District, Dr. Faisal Shuaib, has called on party leaders and members in Nasarawa State to close ranks and work together towards victory in the 2027 general elections.
Shuaib made the call while speaking at the Nasarawa State APC stakeholders’ meeting held in Lafia following the conclusion of the party’s congresses and primaries.
The meeting brought together key stakeholders of the party as part of efforts to strengthen internal cohesion, address grievances arising from the recent electoral processes and prepare the APC for the 2027 elections.
The meeting was also used to discuss reconciliation among party members and strategies for consolidating the APC’s structures across the state.
Addressing participants, Nasarawa State Governor, Engr. Abdullahi A. Sule, said the gathering was an important opportunity for consultation, reconciliation and strengthening the unity of the party.
Sule urged party stakeholders to work collectively and take the message of goodwill and unity to their respective senatorial districts, local government areas and wards.
The governor stressed the importance of a united party ahead of the 2027 elections, particularly following the conclusion of the APC’s internal electoral activities.
Also speaking at the meeting, the APC governorship candidate, Distinguished Senator Ahmed Aliyu Wadada, pledged to sustain and build on the achievements of the Sule administration if elected governor.
Wadada also commended other aspirants who accepted the outcome of the party’s governorship primary and expressed their willingness to support the APC’s collective objectives.
Former APC National Chairman and former Governor of Nasarawa State, Distinguished Senator Abdullahi Adamu, called for an accelerated reconciliation process to address grievances among members of the party.
Adamu, CON, emphasised the need for the party leadership and government to engage aggrieved members and resolve internal disagreements before the commencement of full-scale campaigns for the 2027 elections.
According to him, unity and cohesion within the APC would be critical to its ability to retain its political influence and secure victories across the various elective positions in Nasarawa State.
Speaking on behalf of past governorship aspirants, Shuaib commended Governor Sule for what he described as efforts to reconcile members and strengthen the party.
He said the governor’s willingness to engage with aggrieved members through both public and private discussions demonstrated a commitment to resolving differences within the party.
Shuaib said the APC must place the collective interest of the party above individual ambitions and disagreements.
He reaffirmed his commitment to the success of the party, saying APC members must work together to achieve victory at the federal, state and legislative levels.
He specifically called for support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027, while also urging party members to work towards victory in the governorship, National Assembly and Nasarawa State House of Assembly elections.
The Nasarawa West senatorial candidate urged party leaders, stakeholders and members to put aside personal differences and focus on strengthening the APC’s grassroots structures.
He said reconciliation should not be limited to political leaders but should extend to members across the various levels of the party.
The stakeholders’ meeting ended with renewed calls for unity, reconciliation and collective mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The APC leadership in the state is expected to continue consultations with stakeholders as the party prepares its campaign structures and mobilisation strategy for the forthcoming elections.
The APC stakeholders’ meeting in Lafia comes after the party’s recently concluded congresses and primary elections, which produced candidates for various elective positions ahead of the 2027 general elections. Such post-primary meetings are often used by political parties to reconcile aspirants and their supporters, strengthen party structures and establish a common strategy ahead of general elections.
