‎The Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) has officially released the final squad lists for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, confirming that 1,248 players from 48 participating nations will compete in what is set to be the largest edition of the tournament in history.

‎According to FIFA, 891 players will be making their World Cup debuts, while 357 players return to the global stage after previous appearances, reflecting a blend of emerging talent and experienced campaigners.

‎The squad announcement comes ahead of the tournament's opening match on June 11, 2026. The competition will be jointly hosted by Canada, Mexico, and the United States and will feature an expanded 48-team format for the first time.

‎FIFA described the publication of the final squad lists as a significant milestone in the countdown to the tournament, highlighting the unprecedented scale of the competition, which will include 104 matches and the broadest representation of nations and players in World Cup history.
