FOOD ENTREPRENEUR MARY AROKODARE DIES AT 33, DEBASCREAMERY ANNOUNCES TEMPORARY SHUTDOWN

Nigeria's food and culinary industry has been thrown into mourning following the death of food entrepreneur and Debascreamery founder, Mary Osadebame Arokodare.
Arokodare, who founded and served as the Chief Executive Officer of the premium ice cream brand, reportedly died on June 6, 2026, at the age of 33.
Her death was announced by the management of Debascreamery in a statement shared on the company's Instagram page. The statement also disclosed that business operations would be temporarily suspended as the family and team mourn her passing.
"It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our owner and founder, Mary Osadebame Arokodare, born 9th November 1992, died 6th June 2026.
"In light of this loss and out of respect for the family during this difficult time, all business operations will be temporarily suspended until further notice.
"We kindly ask for your understanding, patience, and respect for the family's privacy as they navigate this challenging period. We will provide updates regarding the resumption of operations as soon as further information becomes available, while all previously booked events will still commence as planned," the statement read.
Arokodare was widely recognized for building Debascreamery into one of Nigeria's notable premium dessert brands, earning admiration within the country's food and hospitality industry.
Following the announcement, tributes poured in from chefs, entrepreneurs, customers, and admirers who described her passing as a significant loss to Nigeria's growing culinary community.
The family has not yet released details regarding the cause of death or funeral arrangements.
