Former Rep Uju Kingsley Chima Announces Burial of Mother-in-Law, Eunice Onukelobi

Former member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Uju Kingsley Chima, has announced the burial ceremony of his mother-in-law, Late Mrs. Eunice Onukelobi (nee Ibeneme), who died at the age of 86.
According to the burial invitation, Uju Kingsley Chima and his wife, Barr. Mrs. Uju Kingsley, have invited family members, friends, associates and well-wishers to join them in celebrating the life and legacy of the deceased.
The burial ceremony is scheduled for Wednesday, September 2, 2026, at Ochealgbu Primary School, Okija, Anambra State.
Mrs. Onukelobi was born in 1940 and died in 2026, aged 86. The family described the ceremony as an opportunity to honour her memory and give thanks to God for the years she spent on earth.
The invitation also appealed to sympathisers to support the family with their presence and prayers during the period of mourning.
Uju Kingsley Chima is a former federal lawmaker who represented the Oguta/Ohaji-Egbema/Oru West Federal Constituency of Imo State in the House of Representatives between 2019 and 2023. INEC records list him as the Action Alliance candidate in the 2019 election, while election results show that he won the constituency with 18,808 votes.
Records of the National Assembly also confirm his representation of the constituency during the 9th Assembly. In February 2020, the House recorded his defection from the Action Alliance to the All Progressives Congress.
During his time in the House, Chima was involved in motions and legislative activities concerning issues affecting his constituency, including environmental challenges in oil-producing communities. House proceedings in 2022, for instance, recorded his sponsorship of a motion concerning the impact of an oil spill in Ohaji/Egbema and Oguta and the need for compensation and remediation.
He sought another term in the 2023 election but was unsuccessful. The 2023 final list of candidates identifies him as the PDP candidate for the same federal constituency, while Dibiagwu Eugene Okechukwu contested for the APC.
As the Kingsley and Onukelobi families prepare to bid farewell to their matriarch, the family has expressed appreciation to those who will stand with them physically and in prayers.
