‎Mexico Become First Team to Reach Round of 32

‎Co-hosts Mexico became the first nation to book a place in the FIFA World Cup 2026 Round of 32 after securing a hard-fought 1-0 victory over South Korea in Guadalajara.

‎Midfielder Luis Romo netted the decisive goal early in the second half, while goalkeeper Raúl Rangel produced a spectacular late save to preserve Mexico's slim advantage. Despite the absence of suspended defender César Montes, the hosts displayed remarkable defensive organization and composure to claim their second consecutive win and maximum six points.

‎Czechia and South Africa Share the Spoils

‎The second Group A fixture produced an entertaining contest as Czechia and South Africa settled for a 1-1 draw.

‎Czechia appeared on course for all three points after taking the lead, but South Africa mounted a spirited late comeback to earn a valuable equalizer. The result leaves both nations with their qualification hopes intact, although victory in their final group matches will likely be essential to secure a place in the knockout stage.

‎Canada Record Historic Six-Goal Triumph

‎Canada delivered one of the most impressive performances of the tournament with a commanding 6-0 victory over Qatar in Group B.

‎Jonathan David starred with a brilliant hat-trick as the Canadians registered their first-ever FIFA World Cup victory in emphatic fashion. Qatar's disappointing evening worsened after two players were sent off, forcing the Asian side to finish the match with just nine men.

‎Switzerland Storm Past Bosnia and Herzegovina

‎Switzerland also strengthened their qualification ambitions with a dominant 4-1 win over Bosnia and Herzegovina.

‎After a tightly contested opening hour that ended goalless, the Swiss side erupted with four goals in the final 23 minutes, showcasing their attacking quality and clinical finishing. Bosnia's frustrations culminated in a late red card, adding to a difficult night for the Balkan nation.

‎Qualification Race Intensifies

‎Following two rounds of matches, Mexico lead Group A with a perfect six points and have already secured qualification for the Round of 32. Canada sit atop Group B after their historic victory, while Switzerland remain firmly on course for the knockout stage following their convincing win.

‎With one group match remaining, the race for the remaining qualification spots promises an exciting and dramatic conclusion.
