Amaechi Alleges Religious Bias in Tinubu Administration’s Response to Critics

Former Minister of Transportation and African Democratic Congress (ADC) Vice Presidential Candidate, Rotimi Amaechi, has accused the administration of President Bola Tinubu of exhibiting religious bias in its response to public criticism.
Amaechi alleged that the President and his aides would not have reacted in the same manner if the Sultan of Sokoto had made comments similar to those attributed to Cardinal John Onaiyekan.
According to him, the differing reactions suggest that Christians are being treated unfairly in national political discourse, raising concerns about what he described as an imbalance in the government's approach to religious issues.
Responding to comments questioning his background, Amaechi defended his academic credentials, stating that his educational history is well documented and can be independently verified.

Amaechi urged members of the public to confirm his academic record through former classmates and associates, insisting that his credentials are authentic and verifiable.
The former Rivers State governor made the remarks amid ongoing political exchanges between opposition figures and the Federal Government over governance, national unity and public accountability.
Amaechi's comments come amid heightened political tension following recent exchanges involving Archbishop Emeritus of Abuja, , who has repeatedly called on the Federal Government to address insecurity, economic hardship and unemployment. His remarks have generated reactions from government officials and political stakeholders, with opposition leaders increasingly accusing the administration of intolerance toward dissenting voices.
