A political stakeholder and former chairman of the Labour Party in Oguta Local Government Area, Apostle David Ebirim, has intensified grassroots consultations ahead of the 2027 Imo State House of Assembly election.
Ebirim, who is seeking to represent Oguta State Constituency, through the Action People's Party (APP), expressed appreciation to his supporters, political associates, and residents of Oguta LGA for what he described as their continued confidence in his leadership style and political vision.
Speaking during a consultation meeting with supporters, the aspirant said he remains optimistic about emerging on the ballot for the 2027 election and expressed confidence in securing victory at the polls.
According to him, politics requires strategic planning, grassroots support, and unity of purpose, stressing that his movement possesses the structure and support base needed to compete effectively in the forthcoming election.
He urged the citizens of Oguta LGA to remain focused and united, noting that collective support and participation would play a significant role in shaping the area's political future.
Supporters of the aspirant described him as a grassroots politician with strong ties across communities in Oguta, citing his previous role as Oguta LGA chairman of the Labour Party during the 2023 general elections in which the party recorded notable support for Peter Obi in the area.
Ebirim, who hails from Umushim Ogbuagu village in Obudi Aro Ward of Agwa Clan, was also commended by supporters for community-based development initiatives allegedly undertaken in his village, including the installation of solar-powered street lights and other social amenities through private efforts. Associates further described the aspirant as a youth-oriented and development-driven politician with experience in ministry, business, and public engagement, qualities they believe position him for effective representation if elected.
Political observers within the LGA say the build-up to the 2027 elections is already gathering momentum as aspirants across political parties intensify consultations and grassroots mobilization in various communities across Imo State.
