‎Imo State Gov. Uzodimma Says APC  has recruited 4.4 million polling unit Mobilisers Ahead of 2027 Elections For Tinubu's Re-election

‎The Director-General of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors (RHA) and Chairman of the Progressive Governors' Forum, Hope Uzodimma, has disclosed that the All Progressives Congress (APC) has recruited 4,421,150 polling unit mobilisers across the country as part of its grassroots strategy for the 2027 general elections.

‎Uzodimma, who also serves as Governor of Imo State, expressed confidence that President Bola Tinubu's administration would secure a second term based on what he described as its reform agenda and developmental achievements.

‎He disclosed on Wednesday while delivering the keynote address at the two-day Renewed Hope Ambassadors National Retreat held at the Transcorp Hilton, Abuja, where party coordinators gathered to strengthen grassroots mobilisation efforts.

‎According to him, the mobilisation structure is designed to deploy 25 canvassers to each of Nigeria's 176,846 polling units, creating what he described as a nationwide civic engagement network of over 4.4 million participants.

‎He explained that the organisation operates through a multi-layered structure extending from a national coordinating centre to the six geopolitical zones, 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, 774 local government areas, 8,809 registration areas and wards, and ultimately every polling unit.

‎Uzodimma further stated that the Renewed Hope Ambassadors currently functions through 17 specialised directorates covering youth mobilisation, media and publicity, digital communication, finance, monitoring and compliance, legal services, technology and data, support groups, intelligence, special duties, planning, welfare, administration, women affairs, diaspora engagement, and research and innovation.

‎He also announced that the organisation had launched a digital platform equipped with a Data Communication Centre to monitor public sentiment and respond to misinformation in real time.

‎Describing the 2027 elections as a defining moment for the country, Uzodimma said the polls would provide Nigerians with an opportunity to evaluate the administration's reform policies and determine the nation's future direction.

‎He urged participants at the retreat to produce key strategic documents, including a National Mobilisation Declaration, a Grassroots Mobilisation Blueprint, a Standard Messaging Manual, State Action Plans, a Polling Unit Deployment Framework, a Monitoring and Evaluation Framework, and an Election Readiness Checklist.

‎The governor encouraged delegates to serve as effective links between government policies and grassroots communities, stressing the importance of communicating reforms directly to citizens.

‎He argued that inadequate communication often creates room for misinformation, adding that government policies require consistent public engagement to ensure citizens understand their objectives and benefits.

‎Uzodimma maintained that President Tinubu had chosen a path of difficult but necessary reforms and that party mobilisers had a responsibility to explain the impact of those policies at the grassroots level.

‎Highlighting economic indicators, he pointed to Nigeria's reported 3.89 per cent Gross Domestic Product growth in the first quarter of 2026 as evidence that the administration's policies were producing positive results.

‎He also referenced ongoing federal infrastructure projects, including the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway, Sokoto-Badagry Road, Abuja-Kaduna-Zaria-Kano Road, Enugu-Onitsha Expressway, and Bodo-Bonny Road, alongside initiatives such as the student loan scheme, consumer credit programme, implementation of the new minimum wage, tax reforms, healthcare investments, and the Presidential Compressed Natural Gas Initiative.

‎In his welcome address, APC National Chairman Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda said the Tinubu administration had recorded significant economic gains over the past three years, citing improvements in foreign reserves, trade performance, and investor confidence.

‎Yilwatda stated that Nigeria's foreign reserves had risen above $50 billion, while the country recorded a trade surplus of N7.55 trillion in the first quarter of 2026. He also said Shell had committed a fresh $20 billion investment in Nigeria after previously scaling back its activities.

‎According to him, international credit rating agencies had upgraded Nigeria's sovereign ratings due to improvements in fiscal management, external balances, foreign exchange administration, and broader economic reforms.

‎The APC chairman challenged Renewed Hope Ambassadors to simplify government achievements by presenting them through relatable stories rather than relying solely on statistics and policy documents.

‎He said narratives centred on beneficiaries of student loans, healthcare reforms, and other social intervention programmes would better connect government policies with ordinary Nigerians.

‎Yilwatda also referenced official economic figures indicating that Nigeria's real GDP grew by 3.89 per cent year-on-year in the first quarter of 2026, with the non-oil sector accounting for 96.08 per cent of the growth.

‎He identified major infrastructure projects such as the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway, the Sokoto-Badagry Super Highway, and the Ajaokuta-Kaduna-Kano Gas Pipeline as flagship components of the administration's development agenda.

‎Also speaking at the retreat, Secretary of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors and Governor of Gombe State, Inuwa Yahaya, described mobilisation as a critical element in the APC's preparations for the 2027 general elections.

‎Yahaya urged participants to rely on factual information when engaging the public and called for confidentiality regarding internal strategy documents, noting that official communications would be released through appropriate channels.

‎Former Nasarawa State Governor and APC stalwart Tanko Al-Makura also addressed journalists, describing the Renewed Hope Agenda as the culmination of more than a decade of the party's political evolution.

‎The Renewed Hope Ambassadors retreat comes shortly after the APC concluded its nationwide staggered primaries, which produced candidates for the House of Representatives, Senate, state Houses of Assembly, and governorship elections ahead of the 2027 polls.

‎The Renewed Hope Ambassadors, established in late 2025, serves as a civic engagement platform designed to promote government policies and coordinate grassroots communication while countering misinformation about the administration's programmes.

‎President Bola Tinubu appointed Hope Uzodimma as a Renewed Hope Ambassador and Director-General for party outreach, engagement, and mobilisation in November 2025, with Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani later named Deputy Director-General in February 2026.

‎The organisation held its inaugural summit in February 2026, where it unveiled a Renewed Hope Compendium and grassroots communication framework, while Vice President Kashim Shettima, representing President Tinubu, declared 2026 the "Year of Acceleration."
