9. Bandit Attacks Force 30 Sokoto Villages to Empty
No fewer than 30 villages in Danchadi District of Bodinga Local Government Area of Sokoto State have been deserted following sustained bandit attacks. District authorities said at least six people were killed, hundreds displaced and over 1,000 livestock rustled during the attacks.

The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) says it recovered ₦5.79 billion in proceeds of crime between January and June 2026.
