‎Japan took a giant step toward qualification for the FIFA World Cup knockout stage with an impressive 4-0 victory over Tunisia in a Group F encounter at Estadio Monterrey on Sunday.

‎The Samurai Blue delivered a dominant performance from start to finish, overwhelming their North African opponents with pace, precision, and attacking efficiency. The result leaves Tunisia eliminated from the tournament following a second consecutive defeat in the group stage.

‎Japan made a dream start to the contest, taking the lead just four minutes into the game. Daichi Kamada found the back of the net after a well-worked move involving Keito Nakamura, setting the tone for what would become a one-sided affair.

‎The Asian giants continued to control proceedings and doubled their advantage in the 31st minute when Ayase Ueda converted from close range after being expertly set up by Koki Itakura. Tunisia struggled to cope with Japan's relentless movement and pressing, spending much of the first half on the defensive.

‎After the break, Japan maintained their dominance and continued to create scoring opportunities. Their superiority was rewarded again in the 69th minute when Junya Ito finished off a swift attacking move orchestrated by Ueda to make it 3-0.

‎Ueda then capped off an outstanding individual performance by grabbing his second goal of the evening in the 83rd minute. The striker rose highest to head home Kaishu Sano's inviting cross, completing a comprehensive victory for Hajime Moriyasu's side.

‎The emphatic win significantly strengthens Japan's position in Group F. Having opened their campaign with a draw against the Netherlands, the four-time Asian champions now sit on four points and remain firmly in contention for a place in the Round of 32, with hopes of topping the group still very much alive.

‎For Tunisia, the defeat marked another disappointing outing in a difficult campaign. The Eagles of Carthage have now conceded nine goals in two matches and face an early exit from the competition after failing to register a point.

‎Despite entering the tournament with high expectations, Tunisia struggled to match Japan's intensity, creativity, and tactical discipline, creating few meaningful chances throughout the encounter.

‎With one group-stage fixture remaining, Japan will head into their final match full of confidence and momentum, while Tunisia's World Cup journey comes to an end after a challenging campaign in Group F.
