‎Nigeria, Ethiopia Sign Prisoner Transfer Agreement as 136 Nigerian Inmates Set to Complete Sentences at Home

‎Nigeria and Ethiopia have concluded a prisoner transfer agreement that will see 136 Nigerian inmates currently serving various prison terms in Ethiopia transferred to Nigeria to complete their sentences.


‎The agreement was facilitated by Nigeria's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mrs. Bianca Ojukwu, as part of efforts to strengthen bilateral cooperation and provide Nigerian citizens convicted abroad the opportunity to serve the remainder of their jail terms closer to their families.


‎The transfer is expected to ease family access to the inmates while allowing them to complete their sentences within the Nigerian correctional system under the terms of the bilateral arrangement.
