The presidential candidate of the NDC, Mr. Peter Obi, has empowered the Onaogaji community in Kogi State with a functional borehole, providing residents with access to clean and safe drinking water.
During his visit to the community, Obi also donated ₦10 million to a Nursing College to support healthcare education and contribute to the strengthening of the health sector.
The intervention has been widely welcomed by residents and stakeholders, who described the borehole project as a timely response to the community's long-standing need for potable water.
Speaking during the event, Obi reiterated the importance of investing in critical sectors such as healthcare, education, and community development, noting that sustainable progress can only be achieved when the welfare of the people remains a priority.
Observers noted that the donation is consistent with Obi's ongoing support for nursing colleges and healthcare institutions across Nigeria. Over the years, he has made several contributions to educational and health facilities, particularly nursing schools, as part of efforts to improve healthcare delivery and human capital development.
His continued support for communities facing social and developmental challenges further underscores his commitment to building a functional healthcare system and promoting the overall wellness and well-being of Nigerians.
The borehole project is expected to significantly improve access to clean water in Onaogaji, while the financial support to the Nursing College is anticipated to enhance training opportunities for healthcare professionals and strengthen healthcare services in the region.
