‎Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State has denied reports suggesting that he is considering a political alliance with former President Goodluck Jonathan ahead of the 2027 general elections.

‎The governor was reacting to claims circulating on social media that linked him to a possible vice-presidential ticket alongside Jonathan under a faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

‎The speculation intensified after a PDP faction led by Kabiru Tanimu Turaki announced former President Goodluck Jonathan as its presidential candidate for the 2027 election during a convention held on Saturday.

‎Responding to the reports through a reaction to a post on X by Nuhu Sada, Mohammed described the claims as unfounded and misleading, stressing that they do not reflect his political plans.

‎He stated that his attention remains firmly focused on contesting the Bauchi South Senatorial District seat in the 2027 elections under the platform of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM).

‎“Thank you for your interest in my political aspirations. However, for the sake of clarity, my focus remains firmly on contesting for the Bauchi South Senatorial District seat under the platform of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM),” the governor said.

‎Mohammed urged members of the public and political stakeholders to disregard reports linking him to any vice-presidential ambition or proposed alliance with Jonathan, insisting that such claims are speculative and inaccurate.

‎He maintained that he has no intention of abandoning his current political objective and remains committed to pursuing his senatorial bid through the APM.

‎The clarification comes amid growing political consultations, defections, and realignments across the country as political parties and key figures begin positioning ahead of the 2027 general elections.
