OBASANJO RECEIVES OGUN PDP CANDIDATES AHEAD OF 2027 ELECTIONS

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo on Monday received the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogun State, Oladipupo Adebutu, alongside other party candidates, during a courtesy visit held as part of consultations ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The delegation, led by Adebutu, included the PDP senatorial candidate for Ogun East, Alhaji Femi Omotayo (Omoowo); the party's senatorial candidate for Ogun Central, Iyabo Obasanjo; House of Representatives candidates from Ogun Central Senatorial District; House of Assembly candidates from Ogun Central; and other PDP candidates from across the state.
According to the party, the visit was aimed at seeking the blessings and counsel of the former president as the PDP intensifies preparations for the 2027 elections.
The meeting forms part of the party's ongoing consultations with respected elder statesmen and key stakeholders in a bid to strengthen its campaign strategy ahead of the polls.
No official details of the discussions were disclosed at the time of filing this report.
