Oyebanji Receives INEC Certificate of Return After Resounding Ekiti Governorship Election Victory

Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji has officially received his Certificate of Return from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) following his victory in the 2026 Ekiti State governorship election.
The presentation of the certificate formally confirms Oyebanji's re-election and mandate to serve a second term as governor of the state.
According to the election results announced by INEC, Oyebanji secured 319,224 votes to defeat his closest rival, who polled 40,543 votes. The governor-elect recorded victories across all 16 local government areas of Ekiti State, underscoring broad electoral support for his administration.
Speaking after receiving the certificate, Oyebanji expressed appreciation to the people of Ekiti State for their confidence in his leadership and reaffirmed his commitment to sustaining policies and programmes aimed at advancing the state's development.
The issuance of the Certificate of Return marks the completion of a key constitutional process and paves the way for the commencement of the governor's second term in office.
