Owerri, Imo State- Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, has presented 32 buses to leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state to support grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Uzodimma presented the vehicles on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at the Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu International Conference Centre in Owerri, where he charged the party leadership to intensify its mobilisation efforts across the state.
The governor also demanded a 100 per cent electoral victory for the APC in Imo State in the 2027 elections, describing anything short of a total victory as unacceptable.
The development was reported by multiple Nigerian news outlets, including The Punch and The Nation, which independently reported the presentation of the 32 buses and the governor's call for a complete APC victory.
According to the reports, the 32 vehicles were distributed to different levels of the APC's organisational structure in the state. Twenty-seven buses were allocated to the party's 27 Local Government Area chairmen, while three buses were assigned to the three senatorial zonal chairmen.
The remaining two buses were allocated to the state women's leader and the state youth leader respectively. The distribution is therefore consistent with the reported total of 32 buses.
The governor's presentation is aimed at strengthening the party's organisational capacity and grassroots engagement as political activities begin to intensify ahead of the 2027 elections.
Uzodimma urged the party's officials to make effective use of the vehicles in reaching communities and mobilising support for the APC across the state.
The APC South-East Zonal Vice Chairman, Ijeoma Arodiogbu, commended the governor for providing the buses and urged the beneficiaries to deploy them effectively for grassroots mobilisation.
Arodiogbu reportedly warned party officials against making excuses, stressing the importance of translating the logistical support into stronger grassroots engagement and electoral performance in 2027.
The governor's demand for a 100 per cent victory reflects the APC's broader effort to consolidate its political structure in Imo ahead of the next general elections.
The 2027 elections are expected to generate significant political activity across Imo State, with parties likely to intensify voter mobilisation, campaign organisation and grassroots engagement as the electoral cycle progresses.
Uzodimma, who is the incumbent governor of Imo State, has remained a key figure in the state's APC structure. The Imo State Government's official portal identifies him as the state's governor and highlights the administration's programmes in infrastructure, healthcare, governance and other sectors.
However, the reported demand for a 100 per cent electoral victory is a political target rather than a guaranteed election outcome. Actual results in 2027 will depend on voters, candidates, campaigns and the conduct of the elections.
The presentation of the buses marks one of the latest logistical steps by the Imo APC to strengthen its structure ahead of the 2027 polls, with the vehicles expected to support the party's activities across the state's 27 local government areas.
